Default Help with DSC-P92 flash times

I have noticed that it takes about 6-7 seconds before I can take another shot with the flash...

Is this normal or is mine defective??

Thinking of returning the camera because of this. Other cameras I've seen do not take as long.

I bought a Sony DSC-P10 in July (similiar model, but the P10 uses a Lithium Ion Battery).

Flash Recycle time was also extremely slow (about 5 or 6 seconds). Indoor metering/focus was also very lacking and inconsistent -- despite the camera's focus assist lamp.

Outdoor metering was a little better (consistent -- but slightly overexposed -- better than inconsistent, as indoors).

My user opinion of it is here:

So, I suspect that what you're seeing is normal.

Thanks for the responce.

Thats too bad. Other than the flash recycle time and that bright orange AF lamp, I liked the camera. Guess I'm heading back to the store.

One thing to consider is that flash recharge times vary depending on the lighting conditions. At times, a camera may only flash 25% of it's strength. You can then fire off 4 shots immediatly before the camera needs to pause and recharge.

I have noticed this quite a few times with my camera. If the subject is far away (15 feet), I have several seconds to wait until I can shoot again.
