Default HQX video: opinion on quality; sample

I'm interested in getting the Sony DSC F717. I've only been able to find one sample of the HQX video, and the quality was terrible. I'm wondering whether that is representative, or if anyone has had good results with the HQX video and has a sample to share.

Thanks!

I have several videos made with the 717. I checked one of them at just under 2 minutes length and it was about 40 mbytes. As I do not have broadband I cannot send it to you. As for quality, it depends what you are looking for. I found myself at a tethered model car race meeting in Germany, and wanted to take some videos back to show my buddies, as this particular kind of model car racing does not happen anywhere in he uk. The videos did exactly what I wanted. My pc screen runs at 1024x768, and the videos viewed at approximately one quater of this screen area, looked fine to me. Not very sharp, but good enough. Show tham full screen and they are pretty horrible. However, as a quick grab record, they suited my purpose. Until then I had regarded video on a still camera as a trick I did not need, but I now find it a useful and sometimes amusing addition. But clearly in no way a substitute for a proper video camera. I would not dream of showing them on the home television set!
If you send me your email address I will glady take some 717 videos for you, dump them onto a cd and snail mail them to you.
cheers
