Like the shots of the MD11, 747 and 737.

PS

You should post the airplane shots in the transportation forum, think many members will enjoy looking at them. Very nicely done.

Thanks Sarah Joyce but way too big for my needs. I need to be able to stick it in a pocket so I can take it running, hiking, etc. Shot looks good though.

jelpee-

What is really impressive is the amount of detail the HX5 was able to gather along the fuselage area, even in reduced size photos.

It is a very impressive shots of the aircrafts with the hx5v. The optics are really nice. The night shots are not bad for a point and shoot, but you can see the noise in the sky. Not G11 or S90 low light, but it works. But it does shine in daylight with the details it can capture with that 10x zoom. I too would avoid using the digital zoom, they put it in but it will cost you allot of IQ in the shot.

Shoturtle-

I am sure the HX5 is a beginning point from which Sony wants to build. So, the HX5 represents the first step along a progressive pathway. All in all, the HX5 has grabbed a lot of attention and many retailers, including www.sony style, are out of stock. So, Sony should be pleased. Nothing gets things going like success.

I notice that, I was at bh the other day, they are out of stock. I was checking on what options are out there for a compact point and shoot to replace 7 year old olympus stylus. I just wish that the s90 had video. That would be a very nice option, but the lx3 and Leica D lux 4 and 3 are also nice options.

Shoturtle-

The Sony HX5 is selling rapidly. The only firm with HX5's still in stock right now is www.abesofmaine.com.

www.abesofmaine.com just called to confirm my order and of course to "upsell" me a spare battery, insurance, and memory cards. I said "no thank you" to the upsell and they will be shipping today. So if everything works out on schedule, I should have the HX5 in hand on Friday, April 2nd, in time for Easter.

That is good news! By next week we will have 2 HX5 cameras in the discussion.

Have a great day.
