Default b/w photos with f717

Hi everybody,

is it possible to take black and withe pictures with the f717.

Hi,
No. It's not one of the effects options. You're going to need to download the photo and use a seperate program. I have Irfanview, which is a freeware program, that can convert to greyscale. Photoshop might be more full featured and offer more control, but if you're wanting simple, it can be found.

Like he said, you'll need to edit the photos later. If you want to get close to black and white while you're shooting, use the sepia mode. You'll still need to convert the images to greyscale, but you'll get a preview of what it will look like without a full spectrum of colors. I just shoot in color all the time. I can duplicate the camera's effects afterward, but I can never recover a picture shot with those effects (except for negative) to a standard color image.
