Welcome abord. is always a great way to start, on any New website.

Direct to the point lol.

Advice:

MTS sound is Dobly, MP4 is stereo
MTS is brighter, while MP4 is (forot already)

So far MTS sound better, well maybe not.
MP4 full HD1080P still can be captured while recording, MTS not
MP4a better file (for me)

Advice learn the camera. practice holding it, do not worry about video and walking, yoube shocked how Stable the "ON" EIS stabilizer is tehre is no OFF to it .

The camera is limited. after a lot of time, and on a real vacation, I just kept to HD1080P MP4 60 f. and 16 mb 16:9 still, used the panaramic wide and standard. maybe one scenic, and (gold) low level shot. which I felt (green) did its job.

never a pro, but Iwill be moving on to a better cam, reasons.

spare batterries are needed I have one spare, wished I had 2 spare.

My cam was dropped a few times, gotten wet, and added a LCD foldable viewfinder
Oh man what a difference that GGS or Perfectlcd viewfinder makes. I can take much better shots, and forget about my reading glasses. vs the glare o nthescreen, WOW!

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas. happy you got one , enjoy it to the fullest
