Default A Real Hx9v Video

This is the rough edit of a video to be used to attract tourists to Lighthouse Point Park taken entirely using the Hx9v. The final version will be shorter and with a different soundtrack.

Shows adults and kids using all the facilities - beach, playground, water sports, some of the flora and animals, boating, and the carousel.

It shows off the capabilities of the camera - long zoom, wide angle, great stabilizer, good color and resolution.

Downloadable 108060p.

Macbeth, did you see my earlier post? SBCooler and I are both experiencing this:

>>Why, yes-- I just tried the demo of ClipWrap and found exactly the same thing. Audio only. No matter how I convert it. Any advice Macbeth?<<

Have you not experienced this problem, and, are you Mac or PC?

Of course I'm using a Mac (27" iMac 3.2GHz i3 of 2010) -- how else could I use Mac Apps?
Your issue (audio only) happens only here, when I _rewrap_ - did you ever try
to use 'Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC)' as output format? This should work.
The ClipWrap support answered that rewrap should work too, but under certain conditions (other installed software) you may get audio only when rewrapping with CipWrap (the rewrapped file is fine but it's _played_ as audio only).
I've installed ClipGrab 3.0.7.2 (free) which contains ffmpeg.
ClipWrap (I'm using trial Version 2.3) may contain a differnet version of ffmpeg.
I learned that it can make a difference whether you've installed Perian (free, version 1.2.1, http://perian.org/) or not.
If you've installed all this and still get audio only (to AIC), then maybe there are OTHER (older?) versions of ffmpeg installed on your system?
Try removing them.
If it still doesn't work, then try the mentioned Rewrap2M4V script or remux.
As reported, both work fine too.

You are right, your video shows the quality of this camera in an impressive way! How did you edit native MTS in 60p...?

I noticed tiny interruptions for example at about 1:57 - is this reproducible in your footage or just a problem of my playback (Movist on a Mac)?

Hi- thanks -- very helpful. I'm sure I can get this to work, and a number of the other workarounds (like Toast) are totally acceptable. I usually edit with Avid so I've avoided the AIC codec for now. Also-- many apps are often Mac or PC, so I hadn't noticed if Clipwrap was both. For now, this is all in the R & D phase of my HX9V ownership.

Suffice to say, as markr041 and others have shown, the video quality is rather remarkable for that price point.

The clips were cut and merged in ******* Final Mate (PC), which does not re-ender. Thus the video contains all of the quality of the original - no recompression. There should not be any glitches or interruptions.

Thanks, I see it's available via App Store for Mac too.
(I guess it does a similar job as SimpleMovieX for MOV/M4V files.)
- Is it explicitly for 60p too?
- Can it convert from 60p to 30p without re-rendering too?

Final Mate explicitly uses 108060p files. I do not use it to convert, so I do not know what it does when you want to just change the frame rate.

Default 3D

On http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/...290110#reviews
I read in a review that the camera can make 3D videos too!!
Is this true...?

I've tried to make some 3D pictures and to view them via 'parallel view' in Mac3DViewer
(free trial from http://wsidecar.apple.com/cgi-bin/np...osx&method=sa;
on the App Store as MPO3DViewer for 7.49).
I find them somehow 'flat' or am I doing something wrong?

Here an example:

Have you made better 3D pics? I would like to see some. Thanks.

Either that reviewer really doesn't have the camera or is just making stuff up.

I do not see the ability to take 3D video on my HX9V.

There are a few ways of taking 3D stills however.
