Default 707 Electronic Viewfinder

I have read many great reviews on the 707 but when I examined one at the Sony Store I was not so sure that I like the Electronic View Finder. Working through a transition from SLR, I use the viewfinder 99.9% of the time... and the 707 reminded me of the camcorder viewfinder (pixelated and not all that clear).

For those people who are actually using the 707, what are your opinions?

Thanks for any advice or tips.

I think it comes down to a matter of personal opinion, the EVF viewfinder on the Sony F707 is much better than most of the digicams out there at present, the resolution is one of the best I have used, yes it is just like a camcorder EVF,but it covers 99.99% of the full image.

I have changed my Nikon N70 SLR to Sony F707 a week ago. The EVF is excellent, not comparable with other cameras. It's bright and shows a lot of details, really no problems with composition or focusing.

Default I agree with rpb1966

The electronic viewfinder DOES take some getting used to, but the EVF on the F707 is excellent, and I have a few cameras with EVFs, so I think I can comment on this.

The F707's successor is due out I think, on October 8th. If you can find a good price on the F707 you should buy it!

Default 707 EVF

I agree. I used to use an Olypus OM4 before going digital and was used to the split screen viewfinder which is a little easier but once you have used the F707 and practised a little while, the EVF is no problem. It is some camera.

very simple. with EVF you can forget about the manual focus, but in turn it gives 95-100% of the shooting area covarage.
