Default Which Sony camera should I buy? F717 / V1 / CD500

Hi people! Im from brazil and I looking for a new digital camera and the choises I have are:

SONY DSC-F717 850,00
SONY DSC-V1 666,00
SONY MAVICA MVCCD500 696,00

I know that F717 is probably the best choise but I need to know if almost more than 200 dollares  are worth for this camera.
All those cameras have 5 megapixel and all look really nice.
Please reply with anything you can say to help me.

Thanks

I only have experience with the CD500. I like it. The photo quality is good and i like the CD storage. The zoom feature is limited. I also purchased an external flash for the camera, which i enjoy. I do not like built in flashes. I will buy additional lenses for it, a telephoto and a wide angle. good luck on our purchase.

I just got the F717 and LOVE it. Your price of 850 is a but high though. I got it from mwave (which is a great internet site) for $674.84. Just go to www.mwave.com and search for F717. Also, there is a 100 dollar rebate from sony right now (but not for long) which brought the price down to 574.84. Nice price for a nice camera if you ask me!

Heres the paste from mwave:

SONY CYBERSHOT DSC-F717 2560X1920 5.02MEGAPIXEL 16MB 5X/2X ZOOM W/MPEG AUDIO ($100.00 Mail-In Manufacturer Rebate Available Till 01/31/04) Detail Specs(*While Supplies Last!)

I ordered it from here, fast shipping and everything was perefect. Sent my rebate out last week!

Whatever you choose, good luck!

I have both the 717 and the CD400. No question the 717 is the best choice overall. It all depends on where you want to go with your photography. My choice is the 717 as it will give you more for longer. The 500 is slow and the cd burner is a worry for long term use. It you prefer that setup, consider the CD 400, it is cheaper and the 1 meg difference won't matter that much.

F717 and the V1 have essentially (spelling?) the same features except for the fact that the V1 has 3x instead of 5x optical zoom. Its also smaller. I'd say go with with either the 717 or the V1. I've got the F717 and it is an excellent camera!

Was there any reason why you did not include the new Sony F828 or the Minolta Dimage A1 in your lists of a new camera.

The ability to have manual control of zoom and a very near manual focus makes me smile every time I use them.
