Sony TX100V, Tx9, Tx10 inquerry

Like to know what would be the best cam of these three?

Would it be in the Order
  • TX100
  • TX09
  • TX10
the tx being the top of the line, then the yx10, then the tx9 andwhat are the diffrences, does one have what the otherdoes not have etc?

thanks FISHY

The TX9 is an older model. The TX10 and TX100v share the same, new 16.2 megapixel sensor and the new Sony tricks for stills (e.g., high-resolution panorama, HDR backlight). For stills the TX10 and Tx100v are likely similar (they seem to have the same lens).

The advantages of the TX100v are:

1. It has the highest resolution screen: a 3.5" 1,229K dots OLED.

2. Video! It does 108060p at 28Mbps (AVC). The other TX cameras do not do this, only interlaced modes for AVCHD.

3. There is also a gps and compass.

I've (silly dude ...) TX7 / TX9 / TX100 and like them all. TX7 and TX100 I've in daily use. TX100 especially for videos 1080/50p.

It is important to point out that the TX10 is a "ruggedized" camera - "Certified waterproof, dustproof, shockproof and freeze-proof".

That may be a very important difference for some.

Hey fishy,

you might want to read this review for the tx100v: http://www.squidoo.com/sonytx100vreview

and for the tx10: http://sonytx10.wordpress.com/2011/0...t-tx10-review/

i think tx100v and tx10 are basically the same except the latter is an all-proof cam while the former has some extra features like 1080/60p movie record and GPS.

The tx9 was released last year but looking at the specs, it seems like the features are a bit the same. I was even surprised it's got an Exmor-R already

Also, don't forget that the newer TX10 and TX100V can do the HD Panaramics.

Thanks guys.

Seeing some vids, and understanding the TX10 or TX100 will be a decison. rarely do we go in the water, but we all get caught on vacation in a downpour

They can do basically the same stuff except 1080/60p video for the TX10.

This is a Youtube version of dim light video of the band taken with the TX100v, which demonstrates the audio capability, and color rendition and noise in dim light:

Thanks mark. Will view later 2day. The tx100v should be the perfect cam then. If I have to decide on a diffrent cam what cam would be better than the sony tx100? And what cam would we compare toothers
