Default My favorite old Sony, is there a new version

My all time favorite P & S is the Sony DSC W200, from 2007. The three features I loved are 1. optical viewfinder 2. the option of vivid colors and 3. the option of sharper images.

Now I know I won't get another P&S with the viewfinder, but does anyone know if there is a newer Sony with the other 2 options? thanks!

I'm thinking the DSC-W570

h e r e.

is the current, updated version of your W200.

Don't know if it has or improves on your items#2 or 3.

thanks John Who. I just actually received that info and looked into the 570. I read about fair to poor picture quality though. Perhaps I need to spend a lot more than $189 for better picture quality? it's strange, I have purchased at least 4 point and shoots since that W200 and spent a lot more on them, but I still prefer the picture quality on the old w200. I guess the old adage, "they don't make them the way they used to" applies!

Hey janey -

Also, a lot has to do with how you view your images.

If you look at the images "full sized", you may be disappointed with many of the current crop of dP&S cameras. Many "pixel peepers" are constantly complaining about this.

On the other hand, if you view your images like I do - "full screen" or on my HDTV (with an occassional 4x6 or 5x7 print), you may find many of the new digitals are just fine.

A bit larger than your W200, I purchased the Sony DSC-HX9V and am very happy with it and its "bells and whistles" (Panoramic modes, 3D modes, outstanding 1080p Video, etc.)

The DSC-WX 9 or 10 is about the same size as you camera. Maybe one of them?

Anyway, here's hoping you find something that gives you much enjoyment.
