Looks a nice little compact- and finally Sony have a compact again with aperture and shutter priority modes. I wonder, however, if the 20mp was necessary- but then I guess we are talking Sony..!!
Shame the lens isn't as fast at the long end as Olympus's XZ-1- no doubt in part to the large 1" sensor- but I guess the extra high iso abilities could counter that....
Nevertheless, the early test shots look good- and here's a few....

More samples at http://www.squidoo.com/sony-rx100
I'm so tempted to pre-order. I wish this camera had cheaper competitors...

Finally nice to see a fast lens and RAW again on a Cyber-shot, my S75 and F717 has a F2 lens while the RX100 is faster still at F1.8 and has the Alpha menu system.

The last RAW capble Cyber-shot was the R1, while the S79/S75/S85 and F708/717/828 also had fast lenses.

Sony Japan has now released a instruction manual for it-only in Japanese. No sign of one on Sony eSupport.
