Hi, I put some samples of my w1 photos in this link:

http://mang.no.sapo.pt/

They are all compressed with Microsoft Picture Manager.

Guess where I´m from...

Did I see your finger in the upper left corner in DSC0112.JPG (the cherry pic)?

I did notice what you were talking about with the P100 and I think you're right, it's because the flash is farther away from the lens. I did get some great pictures with it though. But I prefer the W1 overall. Sony claims they take pictures exactly the same but I give the W1 a little more credit.

I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada but I go to Buffalo and Niagara Falls a lot.Not too far away! I've got to go to Toronto Center Island and take photos of the Toronto Skyline while I'm on the boat. When I do get a chance to go I'll post some photos here.

Here is a night shot with my W1: (I wish I could post it in high resolution)

kski, very nice picture! I have a P100 and I'm considering exchanging it for the W1. There are two reasons for this:

1: I've noticed in all indoor flash shots, there is a very dark shadow on the left edge of all subjects. I'm guessing that this is shadow from the lens because of the placement of the flash.

2: When I take photos with people in the foreground, their skin tone and facial features are not clear, however the rest of the image is clear. This is my second P100. I thought maybe the first was defective.

Have you seen this problem (#2) with any of your people shots?

Do you live in Niagara Falls, Canada?

I live in Buffalo, New York, USA.

Hi,

I'm not sure about the Lexar but I bought a 512mb pro SanDisk card and it worked the same as my Sony and was way cheaper. Plus SanDisk has a 5 year warranty and I've read on the Internet that Sony makes SanDisk cards anyway. I've had no problems with my SanDisk card.

Here's another picture in Niagara Falls I took with my W1 (oh yah and I didn't touch my pictures up at all, so you see the colors on the Sony are amazing! I did drastically reduce the size though so in full quality it's much better):

I picked up my W1 this morning. And I love it. What attracted me to buy this camera were:

large LCD screen, AA size battery, movie clips at 30fps and its small size.

I am planning to get a 1GB memory stick pro as I want to take some movie clips.

I went into http://www.tigerdirect.com web site, and found twobrand of 1GB memory stick pro. One is made by SanDisk andthe other by Lexar. They look the same, but the price difference is clsoe to $200. Can someone tell me will the chaper one by SanDisk work forthe W1.

Thanks

Thank you very much! I didn't use a tripod. I rested my camera on a rail and held my camera steady. Night shots definitely need either a tripod or something sturdy to rest the bottom on, but when you do that the pictures turn out incredible.

kski. My brothers and I used to go up to Toronto all the time to visit the record shops on Young St. We drove up several times to see Rush and Triumph when we were young also.

Please post more shots when you get a chance.
