Default Question on image filename

I noticed that if I delete all the images from my digital camera, the filename will start where my last shoot is, i.e. DSC00020.jpg instead of starting from DSC00001.jpg again.

I want to know to have it start from DSC00001 again, I have probably need to reformat the memory stick?
Please let me know.

Thanks.

that is correct. most people like to know how many shots the camera has shot. also if you put all your pictures in one file there would be multiple files with the same name. you would be continuously asked if you want to overwrite the file and then you would lose the previous image. that is if you don't constantly rename all your images. there may be a reset in your menu somewhere. i advise you let it continue. the numbering comes from the camera and stays in nonvolitile memory so pulling the batteries won't help and reformatting is not an option cause its not a card issue. if you can't find a reset in the menu cal the tech support at the manufacturer.
