Yes, the current situation is disappointingfor me as well. I'm looking forward to seeing how this new "MPEG4TV" on the M1 measures up. If the quality is decent, maybe Sony will incorporate this feature into their other digicams.

umm dunno if this'll help but there's a comparison between mp4 and quicktime videos on the Olympus C-765 and C-770 at DCResource. The reviewer reckons that the quicktime video (15fps) is better than the mp4 (30fps). IMO it is not.
