I got a Soligor DG280 AZ slave flash and used it with the W1. It works well. The main flash is triggerred nearly every time. I used the main flash bounced. The camera wasset toP-mode the internal flash was set to - and the exposure compensation to -2 EV in order to minimize the effect of the built-in flash. I can post some results if interesting

Hi there,

To keep you updated regarding the letter:

Sony has replied to me and appriciated this constructive criticism.

They forwarded the matter to their person in charge of digital camera marketing within the US, and to some sort of technical department as well.

They seem to care about it and promised me to keep me updated on whatever happens with it.

I hope to have good news about this in the coming weeks. Looks like they aren't going to give us some silly excuses this time.

Have a nice weekend!

Thank you Deadlock-83, your effort is really appreciated. Let's hope that this time at least Sony will not play the ignorance game. BTW, I haven't heard anything from Sony-Sweden, perhaps I should send them a "reminder"

Must be something wrong with your 717! I used that camera for a year-and-a-half and I've got to tell you, I've never seen a sharper lens. I got stunning pictures. That Zeiss lens got tons of good reviews about the lens and its cripsness. Believe me, if you were getting "fuzzy" pictures, you must have had a defective camera.

I'll have to say, I agree with aakalan 100% my F717 has produced the best pictures (in all conditions) better than any other camera I've ever owned. (My V1 is a close second) Even though it's 2 years old, it's still right up there with the newer cams I've seen lately.
