Image quality from the V1 is not better than the best from the W1. It's the lens and other features that are better. The V1's default sharpening is too heavy causing too much halo and too harsh picture. Turn down sharpening and apply unsharpmask later would improve it. Also f8 is not as good as wider opening due to diffraction.

I put a V1 on eBay (like new cond) for sale ends Sunday 26th, I like the V1 ....but also have the U30 for pocket, V3 and F828. I may sell the F828 if the V3 works out...like the size of it and have the HVL-F32X flash. I may keep the F828 because I have 3 batteries and 2-256 pro sticks and 4GB micro drive. I really like what Sony did with the V3 and may just keep it as #1 camera.
