Default Sony DSC-F717 Fix???

I sent my Sony DSC-F717 to Sony as part of their auto-focus recall. I received the camera back today. The invoice that came back with the camera states under Description of Parts or Service, " CONSTANT MECH BREAKAGE FUNCTIONAL CHECK" without any other explanation. It doesn't state that it was repaired or if the firmware was updated or corrected. This camera was brand new out of the box and I never had any opportunity to use it because I knew of the recall refore I got it. When I called Sony before I sent the camera to them, the tech said it was a quick software upgrade to fix the focusing problem. But the invoice doesn't state that at all. Do you have any idea as to what they are doing?

If the Sony support page says that your serial numbered camera also needs a fix then it surely needs a fix,
you may send the camera to sony service and get the upgradation done even if you are not facing any probs with the said focusing system
