So has anyone heard any news of the next Sony or if the F828 is coming back?

rjoyon,

I like your photos! I like the 828 photos and the 707! Very good! Especially the macros!

Purple fringing is present in almost anycamera. It can easily be removed in Photoshop. Excessive noise looks like grain at higher ISO settings. Sometimes sharp grainy pictures are cool. There are so many of them in National Geograophic! On the other hand, thefast F2 lens and ISO 200 setting is equivalent toF3.8 lens and ISO 800 setting.Considering a DSLR with a zoom lens versus the F828 one has to remember that a 28-200mm F2lens for a 35mm SLR or a digital SLR does not exist. If it did it would weigh a ton and cost a fortune. So one has to buy several lenses to cover the range Sony's Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar does or use a 28-200 F3.8 Sigma or Tamron of mediocre (well, OK but far from being excellent) performance. I prefer using a fast and incredibly sharp Zeiss 100% of the time and remove the purple fringing later, if needed, in less than 1% of my pictures.

That was very well put sjlivson.

I didn't even think of how awful it would be to carry the lenses to compare to the fixed 7X Optical lens!!
