Hi im new here! I'm looking for a compact camera which I can use on nights out etc. Was thinking of getting the DSC-U40L. Anyway I already own a DSC-V1 & was wondering if the Memory Stick Pro storage I currently use on the V1 would work for the U40L?

Sorry, but no.

The DSC-U40L is designed to use Memory Stick Duo(which is a smaller card compared to Memory Stick Pro).

But, you can do it the other way around.... You can use Memory Stick Duo media in your V1 with an adapter (that's normally included with Memory Stick Duo media).
