What are those two dots in the picture? Are they lens flare? I'm just curious. How can I avoid this problem. I'm sure they're not dust particles because i didn'tuse flash for the picture.

My setting:

No flash.

F-Number: 4.5

Exposure: 2 sec

ISO: 100

Metering: Multi-pattern

EV: 0 steps

Thank you

It is lens flare caused by the two bright street lights in the foreground. Using the Sony lens hood would have avoided this.

Yes, the lens hood is over priced for a bit of plastic. The lens will be of more use and the lens flare issue only come up in difficult situations like this one.
