Thanks for the tips - I'll check mine out when I get home!
Also worth using the self-timer to prevent any camera movement from pressing the shutter release.

Just saw it at Walmart inSecaucus, N.J. for $360.08

I cancelled my Adorama pre-order and bought it there. Wont be able to really sit down and try it out until this weekend. Can't wait!

Will it matter if I go with the High Speed memory for this camera or is the regular "Pro" Sandisk sufficient? I'll be using it mostly for still and moving pictures but wouldn't mind a few movies here and there. Thanks!

For those who have a P200 in their hands, "whats the answer to the
'saving enlarged/cropped images' " thanks tuatara50

I hope SONY included the ability to save an ENLARGED/CROPPED image
on the P200. For me this was an unfortunate omission that SONY made
on the P150. It exists in most Cybershots P100, P92 etc !!!

SONY pleased DON'T give up this feature, it's especially useful on
high megapixel cameras for making cropped images to printed
as 4x6's without having to start up Photoshop, iPhoto etc.

I've read through a good bit of the User Manual and haven't seen anything about cropping images in the camera. I wouldn't take this as a 100% accurate answer though.

An update on my P200 experiences: I found that some pics taken at full aperture and wide angle had a very soft patch in the extreme top-left corner. I told the dealer (Berridge) and they said they'll send a replacement. They haven't had any other reports of faults with the P200, so this may well be a one-off.
Dave

Had a go at this last night and to be honest didn't notice anything significant. I am assuming at full aperture it would have been a fairly obvious anomaly.

Having said that I am v.new to digicams so it is possible I didn't get all the settings right. However I did use a tripod as suggested (not a newspaper but a huge AA road map in the index section which I figured was similar to a broadsheet).

Yes, I'm sure you would have spotted it at full wideangle & full aperture if your camera had the same fault as mine. Here is a 100% crop of the offending corner, I'll post a properly behaved corner from the same image below for comparison. I know it looks as though the shot isn't aligned properly but that's just the lens's barrel distortion at full wideangle. There may even be extra distortion in the faulty corner.

Thanks Dave for the examples - I kind of figured that's what I'd be looking for.

I'll give it another go at the weekend - I am now pretty sure I didn't get my settings 100% right.
