Hello All,

As an F-828 user I read today of Sony's new 4GB MS Pro. ($900).

This item, IMHO, can only be directed at one 'thing': a Sony camera with enough megapixels to warrant a $900 expenditure.

I believe only Sony cameras use the MS/MS Pro.

I also believe only a Pro Photog would spend such money on memory.

Does the 4GB MS Pro indicate a real Pro Sony camera is going to be announced?

I don't thimk my reasoning is too faulty or reaching too far.

What do you think?

Regards, Nicholas

The only use I see in a 4GB memory stick would be to get 50 minutes of video from any Sony camera with MPEG Movie VX Fine. If they come out with a 10 Megapixel camera, the 4GB stick will still holdabout 800 JPEG photos at 10 Megapixel resolution. I still only own two 256MB memory sticks (one standard Sony pro stick and one SanDisk DUO pro) and they are more than plenty for any event I want to photograph...:O

I think Sony will be coming out with a digital-SLR. Who knows. There are rumors that it is coming out with a 12MP. But I don't think so.

But these are only guesses........

hmm......

Even if Sony ever makes a pro DSLR cam I doubt that any professional photographer would use memory stick cards. Sony IMO did a good job including dual slots for both CF and MS on their V3 and I hope that they will do so on future high end models. Dual slots are cool. One can get say 512MB MS Pro and keep it only for filming, while using a larger CF for stills, which brings up a question to the V3 users here. Can you copy a movie once it's taken from the MS Pro card to the CF in the camera? If yes, this is cool too. One can get away with smaller MS Pro card and copy the clip once it's taken.

No, there doesn't seem to be any way to transfer files form stick to cf or cf to stick...

Ever had compatibility problems with this? I've heard that sometimes these don't work on some camcorders =/
