I was in my Sony dealer earlier in the week and had a sneak preview of their 'coming soon' brochure. As well as the already anounced P200 and a number of updates to the DSC-W1 range, there was a new mid-range ultra-zoom (I think the DSC-H1...) -12x zoom, image stabilized, 5 Mp, EVF, big LCD etc. Looked impressive (not sure I need the 7-8 Mp of current prosumer models) and a lot more compact than an F828.No obvious specifics on detailed features but looked VERY interesting on paper!!

Apparently it's due to be announced mid-Feb and available in the UK in the summer. Anyone else seen anything on this front? I can't believe I'm the only one to be leaked this information.

Got any info on any of these? What I'd really like to see from Sony is a competitor to the Canon A95 but slimmer, faster and with better video.

I don't know too much about them yet, but here are 2 pictures of the 7.2 megapixel W7:

OK, from whatI just heard. The W5 will be slightly slimmer than the W1 with slightly improved flash power. The W7 will be the same size as the W5 with a 7.2 megapixel CCD. The T7 will be the same size as the T33 with a 7.2 megapixel CCD. The H1 will be about the size of the V3 with a 5 megapixel CCD and an ultra-zoom lens. So far I haven't gotten any information on the new "S" series.

And, seems, all of them will have 32 Mb built-in flash memory. W7 will have 12x digital zoom...

The W5 will have the 12x digital zoom, the W7 will have 14x digital zoom which is no different than the current models. Sony's idea of 12x and 14x digital zoom is the smart zoom used in VGA resolution... The built in flash memory is nice, it does away with the useless 32MB stick that comes with the camera.

Once again it seems like Sony is going downhill with the LCD's. The New W5 and W7 is supposed to have a 115k pixel LCD as opposed to the 123k pixel display on the W1. More cost cutting it seems.
