I'm having a problem with my memory card (actually I'm not really sure whether it's my memory card or the camera). My camera is a Sony V3 and the memory card is Kingston 512MB CF. The camera sometimes displaying Format Error C:13:01 after I switch it on. After i turn it off and on again, it works ok. But it never goes away completely  The only solution that works for me at the moment is to turn it off and on until the error msg is gone(sometimes 3-4 times of on and off) I'm really afraid it could harm the camera. Anyone knows any idea to rectify this problem? :?:

Have you tried to format the card in the setup menu?

Yes. I've formatted it a few times and took some photos since the first time I saw the error message.

Hmmm, not too sure. The only thing I could recommend is that you try another memory card and see if it still does it.

I've read on some other forum. A few guys got the same problem but they're using F828. The only similarity is the memory card - Kingston. some of them use 1Gb, some 512MB but I can say that most probably it's the Kingston memory card. Bad buy . Thanks anyway CyberShotNut.

same with sandisk ms pro. i have changed two memoty stick in 3 months for this error. if you search on internet there is a discussion on a forum in wich many users had the same problem.

conclusion: theproblem are not memory but sony cameras...and ms are more expensive!

I use a SanDisk Memory Stick PRO DUO with an adapter in my V3 as well as just about all of my other cameras and have never had any troubles with it at all. It's not the fastest memory, but I never had any compatibility issues.
