Guys, my U20 just seemed to stop working. When I open the lense cover, I can see the "iris" open, but all it shows is black on the LCD, like the camera can't see. The menu prompts and everything show up just fine, but all it takes is black pictures. Any ideas? Since my cam is out of warranty, sony wants about $190 to fix it, which I only paid $115 for it brand new.

I tried resetting the camera, but that was no help. Any ideas?

Look closely into the lens while you snap a picture, see if the shutter opens then closes for a split second like it should. I know the P51's had alot of trouble with the shutter sticking shut. If the shutter is open like it should be, the most likely cause is a bad CCD.

Sorry it took so long for me to reply. Got my Sony Ericsson s710 with it's megapixel camera and have just been playing with it.

Yep, you can see the shutter working. It's a damn shame about this camera. I loved the little guy. Sony said they'd come down to $95 to fix it, but I told them I'd pass. Blacky will be missed

The U20 is part of the Sony CCD recall, see this post: http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...mp;forum_id=28
