Should I buy lens bundles from eBay? They have packages (2x Telephoto, .5x Wide Angle, three filters, and lens adpater) ranging from $60 to $80. Is this a good deal?

I bought one of these lens packages from Ebay for my previous camera which was a Canon. The quality reflects the price. The results were very average, with soft pictures and vignetting etc. I have since bought a Tiffen X 2 telephotolens for my Sony P150, which I obtained from Lensmate online. Results have been exeptional, especially considering the reasonable cost of the lens.

Be very careful buying lens on ebay....you get what you pay for ....if it seams too good to be true....it probably is.

If someone goes out of their way to post this on their website, these aftermarket lenses on ebay must be pretty bad: http://www.snapshotsa.com/lens.htm

The pictures shown on the website make a very unfair point. All 2 X telephoto doublers will show the inside of the lens like the ones in the pictures when not used at virtually full zoom. Nobody would bother to use a doubler and then not zoom the caeras own lens as this would override the point of using the extra magnification of the telephoto lens. Hope that makes sense. Whta the web site person should have commented on was the quality of the photos through the lens when used properly. Even my Tiffen 2 X telphoto commented in the info that it should be used a full or near zoom

That's true, i know myVCL-HGD1758 Sony lens does that with my F717, but you can see, even at full zoom the corners and sides look terrible with that lens they were using.

I bought a set of lenses from that same guyVCC113
for my dsc-v1 and it will not even start up when I try using the wide angle lens with the wide angle adapter that came with the lens(the original lens hits the wide angle lens and it will not boot) basically the adapter is like 1/8th of an inch too short...

bottom line you get what you pay for .....
