I've had lots of Sony cameras.... 3 video and 8 digital. All good , but they better turn it around or I won't buy anymore !. It really upsets me how they bring out a new camera...then a in few months they discontinue it. Like the V3....paid top $ and now dropped....the 828 and now discontinued.... I'm just about to say goodbye to Sony that was once the best.....and now on the bottom as far as quality and a trusted company....what went wrong ?... Yes I'm very upset with Sony !!!

Man, it's about business. They put always newer and newer digicams to the market and people buy them. If you are wise, and everyday user, your DSC-V3 can be good enough to make you satisfied for 3-4 years or even more. Useless to buy every year a new digicam unless you are full with money to waste or you are a pro photographer.

I'm not even sure what you're complaining about. For bringing out new products?? As far as the quality goes, if you don't like Sony, don't keep buying it. Seems pretty simple to solve this problem.

Digital cameras are a rapidly changing and developing area. Look how much things have changed in the last year alone. Sony continues to be an innovator in the industry. This does mean models come in and out sometimes very quickly. Look at the bright side, if you really love the V3, you can get a 2nd at a great price in the very near future. I think this camera will give anyone alot of great years of service...this has been the camera that will get me out of the constant year after year upgrade cycle for a while.

My only complaint (which is a big one!) is that Sony discontinues the accessories for the cameras way too quickly!VAD-PEA lens adapter for P92: Discontinued and unavailable. MPK-PHB marine pack for P100/P150, already discontinued and unavailable from Sony! That very much annoys me, there should be some kind of law that parts and accessories remain available for at least a year after the product is discontinued!

As far as i know, it's an obligation to make the spare parts available for 10 years after the product discounts. But i dont knowwhether this obligation covers the accessories or not.
