Hi, I don't know if anyone else is having this problem. I have this Sony DSC F-707 for about two years. Recently I am getting this message "No Memory Stick" while trying to take pictures. It goes off after turning the camera on/off couple of times. But its getting worse day by day.

Any suggestions?

Most likely it's a bad connection or bent pins in the memory stick slot in the camera. You might want to try a little contact cleaner or alcohol on a q-tip and clean the contacts inside the camera.

Thanks. I will try to clean it up. But the Memory Stick compartment is so narrow, even for a QTip.

I have a DSC-P72, two years old, which started to display the same "No Memory Stick" error. I tried three memory sticks and still the same problem.

An earlier post in this thread, recommending to clean it with a Q-tip, prompted me to take a closer look at my camera. I found small metal pieces, meant to be in constant contact with the corresponding metal contacts on the memory stick, and I used a long nail file to bend them down in the direction of the memory stick's contacts.

This did the trick and now the camera works. Thanks for the Q-tip recommendation.

I'm having the same problem with my Sony 707, what was the final solution to the problem?
