Hi,

I have been using a Sony F717. Its been great, but I'm curious about what is new out there. I would like a camera in the 6-7 MP range, but I'm also lookig for a camera that is faster at picking up objects in the focus area (too many times the the camera focuses on the background even though I was careful about where I focused), and also that allows me to shoot faster in low light conditions. Recently while shooting in a church, I had to push the shutter button for what seemed like several seconds before the camera took the picture.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I also have F717, they take very nice picture, I also have Nikon 8700, and sometimes take long for the camera to focus and take the picture. The solution: Buy a DSLR Try getting a Canon Rebel XT. If you can afford, try the Canon 20 D.

I'm thinking of a DSLR Canon Rebel XT for less than $1000

I HAD a 717 and went to the V3. I really like the V3, but I wish I still had the 717. There are disadvantages to every camera, so if you do upgrade, keep your old camera until you are sure about your decision.
