I just bought the Sony H1 and am going to Belize/Cancun,etc... I'd like to take some underwater photos w/ my H1. Not diving, just snorkeling...

I haven't found any underwater cases for our H1's (probably because the camera is so new). HOwever as I am leaving next month I was thinking of getting this bag for my H1.

-anyone use one of these w/ any digital camera they've owned? what' s the quality? ..of the bag? the shots? thanks!

Beware that even simple swimming around on the surface can generate overpressures higher than the 0.45 bar that bag appears to be rated at.

yes, i am not 100% convinced w/ the bag... however I was hoping someone else had experience using this kind of bag and could give me their thoughts.

yep, i leave in about 6 weeks... so I am probably going to wait 1 more month. If no case comes out in that time I will be buying this bag for my H1.

I'll be sure to give everyone a report. I plan on using it in about 5-7' maximum depth.
This bag states it is good to 15' depth, which is more than what I need for a little snorkelling and keeping it safe from sand at the beach...

Sony never made underwater cases for their semi-pro cameras, so I doubt if they will come out with one for the H1. Hopefully that bag will work well for you, I'd love to see some underwater pics taken with the H1.

...yep, i'll most likely order the bag in about 2-3 weeks from now. When I get back from my trip and have used the bag I'll post/share the photos/videos I've taken with the bag.

I'll give a full report on how the bag performs!

just got word from a representative at www.ikelite.com that they will be creating a custom underwater housing for the Sony H1. It most likely won't be ready til late October.
They make very nice underwater cases, very very nice cases.

they are a bit pricey however,

-sadly this case won't be ready for my trip in mid-september... so i may still go with a bag as a temp case.. for the beach (to keep sand out, etc...).
