I just searched the forum and saw CyberShotNut's "nope." Could anybody elaborate on the obstacles? Does the memory stick operate in only one of input mode or output mode during a "session"? How much control of the camera does the USB connection allow? There must be *some* firmware to write drivers for...

It's possible on all the cameras.
The only thing that's a problem to most of the people is that you need to have an input for the analog signal coming from your camera. That means having a video capture card (not a DV/IEEE1394 one) or a TV card.
I know it works, I used it 'till I got an actual webcam

That's a great idea, and I had considered it. Just now, however, I see a you-can-but-don't post that sounds the most reasonable.http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...webcam+s-video

Not via the USB as it can only output files from captured movies or pictures - not live feeds.

Via the A/V out is possible if you have a video capture card on your PC.

But isn't that complicating things as you can easily get agood webcam cheap and avoid wear and tear on your expensive DSC ?
