I dont want to try this experiment (and wouldnt expect anyone else to either!)but I have to wonder what happensif the power button gets pressedaccidently when the lens cap is on, with a camera like the H1? I sure hope the computer has an "oops retract now" function so that the motor doesnt burn out pushing the lens barrel against the cap. comments?

This is why I usually set the mode dials on my cameras to Replay mode before I put them in their cases...

There is a small switch in the lens housing that gets pressed in when the lens cap is on preventing the lens motor from running.
