Fromthe reviewsI've read, the FZ7 is not that great in terms of noise. It is indeed a much lighter and more compact camera and the Leica lens obviously a major plus. However, it uses prop. batteries, which I personally despise. It's too bad that Sony reduced the LCD size on the H2. If they had kept it as the H1 (2.5") it would be a winner!

The H1 has an excellent auto focus system. It's fast and extremely accurate so I haven't felt the need to use manual focus. If you set the camera to AF spot, it is dead on.

Glad to hear that.
Just out of my curiousity only, in case when I need to use manual focus :-)

I'll give it a try when I have a chance. You must remember that these cameras are not DSLRs, which are built very differently. These cameras have fixed lens so manual focus can not be achieved by simply turning a lens ring. The Panasonic is an excellent camera and if you like its features (size, weight, controls, etc.), then go for it. I'm not sure how easy or difficult the manual focus is on their cameras either so I can not compare the two. The bottom line here is that you should buy what you think suits your needs best. I have the H1 and S2 and I must say that the H1 is by far a much better camera.

The biggest advantage of H2 and H5 over H1 is that we can use optical zoom during movie recording. some other advantages are

1. Carl Zesiss Lens
2. Battery life extended
3. Flash Range Doubled
4. Enhanced ISO Sensitivity upto 1000
5. Pixel doubled in EVF
6. Supplied software changed Picture Package to Cybershot 1.0

First of, it's misspelled. It should read Carl Zeiss. That's the manufacturer of the lens (like Leica or Nikkor).

eh, just my 2 cents:

1. there's been a recall and a firmware upgrade to deal with that sandisk memory stick problem, it should work fine on the newer H2's.

2. theres a sale going on at office depot, H2 for $314 usd, shipped free. this is till the 12th of may, i believe. if you are still wondering about a H1or a H2, with that sale, price shouldn't be a concern anymore :P

I checked Office Depot's website and I am not able to find the Sony H2 on there anywhere. A price of $312 would be great. Do you know where I could find it on the website or should I call? Thanks so much!!
