I've just purchased a Sony DSC-R1, nice camera but I hae one question that I hope someone here can answer. It seems the the lens has some wiggle to it (.5-1mm up/down left/right) even if the lens is fully retracted. Is this normal, or should I return the camera and get another, I like the camera and the photos I've taken so far have look good.

The lens is fixed to the body, it can't wiggle.

Do you mean the Zoom ring wiggles? Mine doesn't.

Telescopic part of a lens that moves while you zoom lens can wiggle slightly (more or less). You can find this sort of subtle flexibility in all zoom lenses because moving parts need clear space in between.

As usual, picture-viewing software can show you full size of photo.
In main menu (top horizontal bar) find ‘Veiw' then go down and select ‘Fit to screen'
BTW what kind of software do you use?

The R-1 is only 3-2. But it's quality 10 MP enables you to crop to 4-3 with out much loss in image quality.
