I have a big day ahead of me and I'm trying to avoid buying 3 infolithium batteries at 60 bucks a pop. Can I build a 7-cell NiMH or NiCd battery to supply extra power, or will the camera die once the voltage starts to sag?

Sure you can as long as you add the "info" circuit otherwise the cam will say "For InfoLithium Battery Only" and shut off. You'll want to use6 1.2v Ni-MH or Ni-CD batteries or 2 3.6vLithium Ion cells.

I built a huge battery for my cell phone. Everyone makes fun of my phone, but the thing lasts forever per charge!:lol:See pic:

You do not have to spend $60 per battery
