Yes, my camera was tossed in the washing machine and ran thru cycle for about 5 minutes. It had water in the viewfinder and that was opened and water released, but with fresh batteries it will not power on ... it is still under warranty, but of course they are not going to honor warranty ... do you think this camera can be salvaged ...

I do not think any camera can survive such an ordeal. Even so you put a camera through dryer, it will not work.

:?How does a camera the size of an H1 accidently go through the wash? Sounds to me like it's time for you to upgrade to an H2 or H5.

you should find a better place than near the washer to store your camera...

most likely it's ruined.
However I have had a few cell phones go through the wash ...I've had 50/50 success with them making it out alive. Have you given your camera ample time to dry out??

with all the moving parts I'd guess it's dead though...

it got in the washing machine because it was stored in a laundry bag and the whole laundry bag was dumped upside down in the washer ... person was in a hurry:idea:
