And Lacrosse is Field Hockey with body armor. But of course, all of this goes out the window once you've seen Austrailian Football. THOSE GUYS ARE JUST NUTS!!! |

Ok, just checking. Is the guy in the stripped shirt a referee?
If he is, then I retract what I said about Rugby not being the toughest team sport. |

No it's not that tough a game where the referee has to run from the players.
The lad with the ball is breaking the defensive line, and indeed went on to score in what turned out to be a fine victory for us. |

ah, yes... rugby. i recall the hooker on my high school team filing his cleats before games... fun sport! the coach "officially" disapproved, but looked the other way.i played 5 years and discovered that after the initial butterflies went away - which happened after the first tackle - it was actually a lot of fun! like Aussie football, it looks rougher than it really is, but it's still a far sight more rugged than most folks want to indulge in! :G

Well I've been pretty lucky with injuries, but my son who played pro,has had a knee reconstruction, three ops on his ankles, a broken leg,two shoulder reconstructions, two dislocated elbows, two broken arms, a fractured cheekbone and numerous other soft tissue injuries. Oh and I forgot about the near to160 stitches in mostly facial wounds. Mind you that lotwas spread over about 11 years.
Hey I thought this was a photographic forum, not a casualty show. |

The last time a sporting event had casualties like that, it was Lions v. Christians! |
