Cool.... liking the additional shots. One thing that I learnt recently is to get the goal celebrations when the players score as these can be great (possibly better if they do not have helmets on). For the game I covered last week, the one that went in the paper was the celebration shot.

Thanks Mark,
You're definetely right about the "after the goal" shots. This was probably the first sporting event I have taken pictures at. My wife and older son are the big Hockey fans and I'm trying to get practice taking action photos as my hobby is flying radio control airplanes and jets and now trying to photograph them as well. Now I have two expensive hobbies. I saw the photograph in the newspaper in another link on here. Very impressive. congratulations. Marty |

Hey Marty,
I fly RC (well not for about 8 months) as well. Have a couple of gliders, one low wing aerobatic job just being modified (going from a 61 (max rated) to a 91 as want to do some prop hanging and 2 helicopters. Mark. |

Cool. I'm going to an RC jet event in Florida in a few weeks and plan to take as many pictures as possible. If anyone is interested in model aviation photography, John Christensen has a nice site with some good photo info.

They are pretty good shots.
You might want to try shooting RAW format, and tweak them a bit. Terry |

Don't know why I stopped getting emails when someone posts?
Thanks BG and Terry. The lens was the Nikon 80-200 f2.8 AF ED. I was going to shoot a mix of RAW and Fine jpg but between the wife and two fighting kids, I was glad I just got to take pics. The PC I do most of my post proc on needs a RAM boost so RAW is very time consuming per pic. Marty |

A nice set of photos.
I think your responce to shooting in RAW is understaded and and level headed. I can't see how these pics can be significantly improve by such a move. Spend that extra time with the family, hug the wife and start training the kids about the wonders of RAW.:-) Since you don't have the time I thought I'd try a little something. Africa |

Africa,
It took me about 10 seconds looking for changes to lighting or color before I noticed the billboard. I like it...thanks. Marty |
