A few photos of the All Ireland Autograss Series held at the West Waterford Club this weekend. Fog casued the cancelation of saturdays racing still tried a few photos in it. Let me know what ye think of them, and processing of them. Batch filed 170 photos with 200 left to do. I think panning works the best for motorsport, but sometimes I think I go down too low 1/60 or 1/80.

Wow:|!!! What kind of engine does that modified Mini have ?
Also looks like it has been converted to RWD ? What kind of camera equipment and shutter speeds, f-stops do you use ? |

The mini is special alright. It is now mid-engined rwd. It has a huge v8 in the back!! Think it is rover. I havent seen it up close and stopped to check, it was just flying past me all day. But others have two 1300cc bike engines from a haybusa. These can pop wheelies on exiting the bend.
I use a nikon D50 and a sigma 70-200 f2.8. Shutter speeds 1/60 to 1/160 and f6.3 - f11. I was using fully manual so was adjusting for the different light. There is alot of action and it can happen close so lens can be a bit too long. ![]() |

d_oshea wrote: Great shots. I'm impressed with your equipment's ability to deliver. I like modified small cars. In my town we used to have a guy that had a small Suzuki convertible, that came with a 3 cylinder 1000 cc engine . He somehow stuffed in a 502 cubic inch(8100cc) Chevy V8. I don't think he has ever nailed the throttle as it would be lethal.

The camera performs well, but I have found its limitations from the start really. Its good but would perfer to get my hands on a D200, I think it will be a D300 before I will be able to get one.
That car sounds made. Think thereare a fewbuggies in england with that engine it this form of racing. If you want to see more of them, I have 170 of them on my site www.ontherack.net I suppose that could have been guesses by the photos. |
