Two images attached tried 70-200mm with 1.4 converter Images post processed but not cropped. Still not happy with low light action and noise but I am continuing to try. C&C welcomed Have many more images I can send for critique as well . Being in the right spot and anticipating is probably the most helpful at getting that great picture. this game was decided in last 20 secs. Good Game. Team in red winner with undefeated season.
Comments welcomed Photos sequence one right after the other. Images downsized for web (a lot) Steve |

Steve,
Second one looks like a nice photo. First isn't very interesting as it's a bad angle (can't see his face)and there's nothing interesting going onbut when he opens up to throw (like in 2) it's pretty good. So 2 is a keeper but probably not 1 IMO. Also, if you're going to use flash you should work on getting rid of the red-eye as it's distracting. Do you have the flash mounted right on the camera? If so, I might suggest either using a bracket or if you use a monopod, mount the flash on the monopod (tape or clamp) to get it away from the lens. |

John thanks for the comments and I also like #2 the best.
I have played around with post processing and it seems I can improve photos by first white balance then raw convert decrease brightness and contrast slightly then sharpen a little. It helps with exposure values as well as keep the noise to an acceptable level. All my pictures are raw so it is hard to show you the original file. Also the extra reach with the extender at the expense of aperture gives better faces in the photos can still get shutter speeds of 1/400 to 1/500 Thanks again for the comments on the photos Steve |
