The pictures are very sharp and the last one does show some action. I was told that I should move around to the other side of the field and get the faces of the players. It adds so much more to see their expressions and know who they are.

Nice job on the exposures! Certainly, it mustve been tough, bright sun, white unis, shadows, always a challenge. In my opinion there are two rules in shooting ball sports. #1, always get faces. It rarely works when you dont have the players' faces. There has to be something very interesting and unusual for it to work. Ive taken the libertyof providing an example, I apologize and will remove it should you wish. Others may chime in but I think this shot works only because of the ball, the bat, and the viewer's anticipation as to what will happen...a base hit. Having said that, Ive never had a shot like this published. Its more art than photojournalism, which the sports papers dont care for.

The 1st shot...no story to tell, really.

The 2nd shot...kids make great faces as theyre running, capture the grimaces, the tongues wagging, the cheek puffs, etc...

The 3rd shot. Almost the same set up as mine but can you see the difference that having the ball and bat in the shot makes? I also added more of the pitcher as a reference but she so blurry that shes not a distraction by vying for the viewer's attention.
