I decided to shoot in RAW today...but I don't think it helped. I don't think the pictures turned out any better than the ones I have shot in the past.Maybe I still just haven't figured out the whole PP thing. I have been lookingat other peoples work on this and other websites and some of their photos are really sharp. At least it gives a person a goal to "shoot" towards.
Anyway, I had a good time as always with my new hobby and please provide C&C as you see fit. All wereshot at 135mm, f/2.0, with a shutter speed of 1/320 or 1/400. |

Do you have the 85mm lens also? If you do, do you like it better than the
135mm lens? Still trying to decide if I should get the 85 or the 135? I would mostly be in the stands shooting. Your pictures look really good! |

lakeida,
I don't have the 85mm...yet. I purchased the 135mm mainly because my daughter is into gymnastics and I knew the 85mm would not provide the reach I needed for her meets. Therefore, I have put it into service as my basketball lense for now. Let me show you an uncropped image from the 135 and maybe that will help you out. JohnG says the 85mm is still good from the first or second row of seats, after that and you may want something else. The gym where these are taken is a full size gym, however, they only use one-half of the court for these basketball games. And they position the portable goals perpendicular to the gyms main goals. So they play "full court" with two portable goals but the LENGTH of their court is the WIDTH of the main full size court. I am approximately 10' from the out-of-bounds line on one end, and as you can see, the kids are shooting at the far goal. Hopefully this will give you a better idea of the reach of this lense. I am itching to attend a local high school game to shoot with the 135mm, but I think I will have to retreat into the stands a distance if I want to get full body shots of a teenager. I hope this helps! Chris |

Awesome, Dude!
The shots look a tad overexposed, you could probably dial them down about 1/2 stop using your RAW photo editor. Keep up the good work! -- Terry |

Thanks Terry. I probably overexposed them in PP, as I lightened most all of them up.
