Not too bad from the stands.Colors are decent and exposure is OK (although a bit flat) and sharpness is there. So, it's a very good start.

There are a couple things you can do to immediately improve and some things that will take more $$$:

1. You need tofix your horizons in many shots - the eye is naturally drawn to vertical and horizontal lines so the eye picks up when things are crooked. This is easily fixed in post processing.

2. Many of the shots are cluttered with too many disjointed subjects - i.e. multiple players with the ball. Try to limit your composition to 'one story' - having two people with basketballs is really two different stories - wait until only one is in the frame. Of course a defender can be part of the story but you want everything in the image frame to add to the story not distract from it.

3. If you need to shoot with flash or strobes - make sure to remove the redeye - I think it was the dunk where I noticed it.

4. Eventually you'll want to get closer or use a longer lens and one capable of smaller aperture so you can blur backgrounds. This is the thing that could cost $$$. Distracting backgrounds are probably the toughest thing to improve in sports. In pro arenas a slightly blurred crowd doesn't distract that much - but in venues most of us shoot in, having a perfectly in focus scorer or 5 people in the background does distract. Again it doesn't add to the story so it competes with your subject for the viewer's attention.

Pratice and seeking / accepting feedback is how we all get better. i hope you take my comments in a positive way - your shots are a very good begining there are just some easy things you can do to make them even better next time!

Keep shooting and keep posting!!
