I've been away for a few weeks so have to catch up on the forum. I'm posting a few my 12 year old son took of my 9 yo. Although the 12 yo loves playing, he is starting to take an interest in sports photography as well. These were with my XT, 50mm lens, at f2.8.

This one is obviously not in focus, probably as it was on centre AF but I thought he (the son taking the shot) had great timing. (And I really liked the air he got on the drive.)

I also told my son to look for reaction shots ('cause I always forget to). He got this one after my other son fouled out with 10 minutes to go.
He was pretty upset as it was a playoff game, his team had lost to these guys by 60 (yes, sixty) points when he and another guard were away 3 weeks ago and were only trailing by 2 at this point. We ended up losing by 6. Just couldn't convince him it was still a real victory. Deep down, I think I am excited that my 12 year old is showing this interest so that I may, at some point soon, pass on the XT and get the 20D. Kevin |

Not bad at all. The third shot is really great, especially with the description. Tell him to keep it up, looks like we are going to have another photographer in our midst.

Those are great shots to show him 20 years from now.
