The reflection in the mirror make it look like a hang glider...
Great picture... The only way I'm taking a picture like that is through an airplane window... and I don't even like flying in them! -jb |

Well JB, that's close, it's a powered parachute ultralight.
Vito, that photo was taken at about 10,000 feet. I don't usually go that high unless there is something to see. The beauty of the PPC is that you can safely fly at 2 feet if you want, and at under 30 miles per hour it feels like you can just step out onto the ground. Q |

vito, there is a big fan on the back, with moves it through the air, you have some people hold the paratute behind it and when it gets air in it, they raise it up and the fan pushes you forword
i hope thats clearer then i think |

The sharpness in the mountain background amazes me...what lens did you use here? And what setting?

Normcar,
The lens was just the standard lens on my Oly C3000Z. ISO 100, speed 1/400, F5.6, full wide angle. It was a very clear day. Bradg, I own the PPC, a two place. I'm an instructor examiner but you don't need any license to fly a single place machine if it meets the ultralight regs. Yes, it's very safe, even at 10,000+ feet. Q |

actually......i just thought about how high 10,000 feet is.....i went to the top of Mount Evans....and that is 14,260 i think...so that is just a bit below that.....that isn't TOO bad lol
so the throttle turns the fan thing faster and then causes you to move faster forward pushing air into the parachute? |
