G'day Graham
Yeah matey - you and "millions" of others However, Boris (in your case) has made an offer of 80% of 'something' so that might be the start of 'something else' While sporting images are still wanted, it is only the public that are not welcome at games - so I presume that you -as an accredited photographer- will still be able to gain entry to events =or= at worst, it will be a time for reviewing your work flow, =or= pulling out heaps of 'keepers' and creating some of those print-on-demand coffee table books showing the best footballers in the club Phil

There is no sport anywhere, not even grass roots! All weddings etc are a maximum of 5 so no snappers needed there, also, all pubs, clubs, restaurants & theaters closed so no social snapping. Basically all avenues now shut ![]()

wottabugga - maybe the self-employed will be brought into the scheme once people start shouting louder. Certainly the Aussie scheme includes self employed (tho details have not yet been published as to 'how to' ~ and they are talking about a basic amound of about 200GBP per week as a starter Here's a link to the ABC news site https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-03-...l-get/12078972 Phil

Hi Phil,
yep the self employed are now included BUT!, you have had to be freelance/self employed for over 3 years & income is based on a % of those 3 years! If your less than 3 years self employed then tough! it's universal credits, ie, £97 a week!!. If you happen to be uber successful & have earned over £50,000 a year then... tough your limited down to the maximum payment of £2,500 a month. I'm not eligible for the payment as I have worked for a paper up to last year. So I guess I need a job now & weather I even come back to this game is a big issue now. stay safe my friend. Regards Graham.

Wottabugga - the problem with every gov't decision is that there's always some winners and some losers ... when 'they' draw a line in the sand for say, tax relief and put an income level upon it, there will be some above and some below ... and therefore some get it and some miss out Whatever is decided for you via circumstances, do your best and stay safe Hugs my friend Phil

Well Phil,
A decision was made that all self employed here in the UK. they would qualify for the furloughed worker scheme, (ie 80% of a estimated earnings from 3 years tax returns), here in the UK!, "Hurray" I hear you say?, yer, well there's a huge BUT!!! If you haven't been self employed for over 3 self tax returns, you don't qualify for anything! If you have earned over 50,000 in that period... you don't qualify for anything! if you do qualify & you've been a good boy & submitted every receipt then, well done you qualify for a maximum of £2,500 a month. Sounds a lot till you take into consideration city rent, bills etc! &, to add to the woe the payments cannot start to be issued until middle of June so they say you can "get by" on Universal credit for 2 months equivalent to £97.00 a week?, for all bills, rent & food? mmmm, I don't think so. so where screwed again!!. May be giving up this photography malarkey after all. ![]()
