Default Different ways to set white balance

I think I read a post here on different ways to set white balance, but I can not find it. Any help

Welcome to the forums, as I see this is your first post here.

Here's one interesting thread on the subject:


If you read some of the posts from JohnG (one of the better Sports Photographers posting here, and a Moderator in this forum), you'll also see some tips for setting it for indoor sports. From past posts, his advise is to use a slower shutter speed when setting a custom white balance. For example, use Tv mode (Shutter Priority) at around 1/60 second. That can help with cycling lights (since temperature readings can be thrown off when you attempt to set it using faster shutter speeds). I'd also try to find a spot on the floor in between lights to get a better average when setting a custom white balance.
