Poor lighting conditions, but this is stillmy best cricketshot so far :-)
Thoughts/critiques etc welcome (+ also suggestions on how people might edit it particularly welcome) (Nikon D70, Nikon 70-300mm G 4.5/5.6, ISO 400, Shutter priority, 1/500th second, F13, @ 300mm) |

Very nice catch, :-). Being new to photography, I wont comment on the light, focus etc...but I will say it is harder than it looks to get a shot like that.
Tried my 10yo nephews soccer this summer. Looks like a slow game to watch, ha, try to take pictures of it! IMO, well done. |

Jimbo, that's really excellent! Tell the guy to turn his face towards the camera next time.

looks pretty good to me. We are a cricket mad nation and cricket is played in just about all country towns as well as the city's and in many backyards. I think I will have to go and check out our local players this summer and hopefully try to get as good a shot as this one.:-)

Good shot jimbojetset, although I'm not a cricket fan.
![]() For the out of focus one. The only way I know of getting around that sort of problem - with auto-focus - is to point the camera at the spot on the ground you think the player will be over when you take your picture and keep the shutter button depressed half-way until you take the shot. Of course, you're going to have to guess where he will be a lot of the time. ![]() |
