I was lucky enough to get a ticket to the final game of the 6 Nations. Used my Panasonic FZ5 and the zoom was phenomenal. The game was floodlit so I had to up the ISO to 400 (the max on the camera) so there's a bit of graininess.
I tried shutter priority and aperture priority, plus manual, and am relatively happy with the outcome. |

Hey Frenchy,
Not bad at all from that far back...... that 432mm equivalent was working well for you. It would be worth popping them through photoshop/paintshop pro or whatever you use to lighten them a little as they seem slightly dark to me, but apart from that I think you have done a great job. Your mission is to get on the sideline next time...... :-) ![]() |

This genre seems to be your real calling. Perfect timing.

Thanks for your comments guys.
Mark - maybe one day I'll be on the sideline but for now I'm content with just getting free tickets!!! I know what you mean about the darkness - it seems dark to me too but the noise seems amplified when I tweak the levels. Have you got a cunning way of doing it without upping the noise? Syd - thanks mate, I do really enjoy action photography and I think I'm slowly picking it up (though I must say a camera upgrade would be nice!). |
