My girlfriend and a few friends held a fire-eating/breathing night last week and I tagged along to take a few piccies.

Technically I found this quite a challenge. Low light with very bright flame bursts. I ended up shooting with a shutter speed of between 1/400 and 1/640 (some may have been a bit faster), with my Nikkor 50mm F1.8 wide open and the ISO on 400 or 800.

The photos have had some noise reduction applied with Noiseware Pro but overall I think they came out OK. Next time I'll probably keep the ISO lower and bump that shutter speed up a bit more to capture the flames better.

Anyway, here's 11 shots of the 200 I took on the night.
